| 3 Gamma Epsilon Brothers accepted to the 2010 Delta Sigma Phi Leadership Institute |
|
Marco Henry Negrete (Fall 07'), Jorge Rodriguez (Spring 09'), and Jorge Galvez (Fall 09').
Formerly known as The College of Engineered Leadership, The Leadership Institute (LI) is our Fraternity’s flagship leadership development offering. A five-day, intense training and development institute, the LI has graduated more than 600 brothers since its inception in 1993, and over 50% of those give back to the Delta Sigma Phi Foundation.
A recent attendee called the Leadership Institute, “the best thing Delta Sigma Phi does!” The cutting-edge curriculum intentionally provides several small group sessions in which participants experience the topics in a more intimate setting for discussion and analysis. There are also increased mentoring opportunities with alumni facilitators in small groups. Topics range from leading organizations to ethical decision-making to motivating others to act. The Fraternity selects LI attendees from an elite group of high-caliber men based on their superior academic performance, leadership, campus and community involvement, and letters of recommendation. Undergraduates selected to attend the LI are not only chapter leaders, but many are also leaders in their campus community.

| 3 Delta Sigs attend SJSU Fraternity and Sorority Pride Retreat. |

This annual retreat is the actualization of a leadership concept originally conceived as a part of the Greek Life Taskforce's educational plan recommendations. The retreat was designed to give students the knowledge and tools needed to effectively lead change in their chapters and councils, while also uniting our fraternity and sorority community though understanding and the acknowledgement of their shared ideals and challenges. SJSU Greek Alumni, Student Involvement staff, and chapter advisors help to facilitate serious dialogue around issues such as diversity, inter-Greek relations, community-building, risk management, values, personal development, and image issues (see appendix). Outside of general sessions, students are given the opportunity to learn more from each other in PRIDE groups, each group was deigned to be a cross-section of the Greek community with representation from every council. The PRIDE groups also participate in low ropes course teambuilding activities.
